“Parts” was shot in Dallas, Texas in 2006 over the July 4th weekend in a single abandoned warehouse where all the sets were created.
The production utilized Texas talent, primarily from the Dallas area, who volunteered their time or worked for nominal fees in an effort to bring this story to the screen.
The cast of Texas based talent has appeared in “Prison Break”, “Barney”, many commercials, and Richard Jackson was recently seen in “No Country for Old Men”.
Shooting in one hundred degree temperatures, no electricity or running water, and in an abandoned warehouse contributed to the director being hospitalized with bacterial pneumonia on the third day of shooting.
The first draft of the script was completed in 2002. After four years of saving to make this project a reality, the film was shot in 41⁄2 days in 2006. Post-production took one year to complete.
The budget for Parts was one trip to the hospital and two relationships.
